Barbara Moreland

What’s our thoughts on Barbara‘s latest spread with Alison Su, you ask? Well, let’s just say it’s nothing short of breathtaking! Alison absolutely killed it with catching Barbara’s sporty chic side (dressed in the latest trends from Lime & Vine), all while using the contrasting element of California sunlight to capture her more softer glow. I mean, who else looks this flawless on a basketball court?

Where are you from?:
I was born in Wichita, Kansas.
What inspires you the most?:
My family in every way. My mom and dad truly give me the best type of motivation and inspiration to wake up every morning, with a happy heart. They taught me how to choose to be the very best version of myself, no matter the circumstance.
What food will you absolutely not, under any circumstances, eat?:
Okay, I totally do not understand the whole wave of putting poached eggs or any type of egg that isn’t cooked on well-done burgers or by itself. Runny eggs are so disgusting to me and I just don’t get it!
Where would you take your dream vacation?:
There are so many beautiful places in the world that I haven’t been to and that I hope to eventually visit, but if I’d have to chose, right now the Maldives are top on my list.
What’s your favorite weekend activity?
I am such a homebody! If I am not working, I love to just be at home relaxing with candles lit, watching movies, reading, cooking up something tasty in the kitchen, and listening to good music playing. Those things I love.
What is the funniest thing that happened to your recently?:
So….I have this vibrating facial-scrub that I am obsessed with, and I take it with me whenever I travel for work. Once, while I was at the LAX airport going through TSA,  I saw a group of officers run over and react to something that was in a bag, with zero clue that it was mine they were dissembling. One of them yells out to the waiting crowd of people, asking “WHOSE bag is this?!” Of course, this drew everyone’s attention to me as I realized that it was my luggage. I don’t know how it got turned on, but it was loudly shaking/rumbling my entire bag. It was TOTALLY embarrassing, yet actually funny at the same time.
Do you have any mottos you live by?:
I wouldn’t say mottos, but I do have a lot of morning mantras that I exercise first thing when waking up to get my mind right for the day ahead of me. Positive-intent is really important to me.
Which superpower would you want to have?:
Teleportation would really come in handy at times.
What’s your guilty pleasure?:
I have such a sweet tooth. I love all kinds of cookies, ice cream, cakes. Anything dark-chocolate has my name on it.

What’s your most valuable high-school or college class you ever took?:
Well, I was homeschooled and as unusual as it sounds, the greatest lesson that I’ve ever learned had absolutely nothing to do with the curriculum! My greatest life lesson was taught outside of the classroom, having learned the value of being my true self. That totally sits as the most valuable lesson with me.
Who is your role model, and why?:
Growing up in a big family (I’m the youngest of 7 children),  I was blessed with so many amazing role models in my life so it’s impossible to just choose one of them. However, if I’d have to pick, my oldest sister, Kathleen, had really been the leader of the pack since the beginning of time. She always exuded strength, while seeming effortless in everything she did, no matter what was going on. She also always had a smile on her face and could always find something to laugh about…. it really helped shape who I am today! Sadly, she just passed away and I miss her so much, but she left a lifetime of knowledge with me that I’m forever grateful for.
