If you haven’t heard of Tilly’s yet, we’re about to change your style game. In the last few years they have exploded onto the streetwear scene with envy-inducing outfits within any boss babe’s price range. This California native company specializes in a wide range of surf and sport brands that let you take a little bit of the beach home with you, and their latest collections have been nothing short of perfection. We’re going to make sure to grab a matte satin bomber and 2-fer tee dress paired with some lace-up boots (seen below) for the perfect DTLA outfit. Keep scrolling to see how Alex wears Tilly’s!
If you haven’t been following Emily Hall on social media yet, now is the time to start. This gorgeous girl continues to take the fashion world by storm with her tireless work ethic, most recently leading her to walking thirteen shows in Madrid Fashion Week in four days. After a stunning debut in New York, Milan, and London, it was only fitting for Madrid to be next on her tour de force.
Walking for sought-after international designers like Menchén Tomás, Maria Ke Fishermann, and Andrés Sardá saw her repping all the trends we look forward to seeing in the coming seasons, from vintage glam to modern rebel. (Also, we’d say strutting down the runway in a Marie Antoinette getup fulfills every girl’s modeling daydream.) One of our particular favorites was Teresa Helbig‘s Old Money collection, which took aristocratic fashion for a playful romp through 70’s flair with maximalist detailing.
When asked for a complete list of all the designers she walked for, this busy bee scrawled it on a napkin at a cafe before heading to her first job in the morning. (Now that’s dedication!) We couldn’t be more thrilled to see this #girlboss’s dreams coming true, one step at a time. Keep scrolling to see how Emily rocked Madrid Fashion Week.
MFW Day 2: Juan Vidal, Ángel Schlesser, Ion Fiz
MFW Day 3: Andrés Sardá, Roberto Torretta, Teresa Helbig, Menchén Tomás
MFW Day 4: Ailanto, Maria Ke Fisherman
MFW Day 5: The 2nd Skin Co, Alvarno, Jorge Vázquez, Olivia

In the midst of the uncharacteristically gloomy LA weather we have found our fave way to celebrate: Spring collections! Hot off the press is K/Lab, retail giant Khol’s answer to the young, fashion minded shopper who is looking to dress stylishly without breaking the bank. We can’t wait to snag their silky Long Kimono in the perfect spring pink, layered over a Knit Dress for classy-casual look. If you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s day outfit, we recommend an Off the Shoulder Dress with their classic Oversized Bomber– it’s the perfect mix of sexy and sporty. (Did we mention all these pieces are on sale? Don’t say we didn’t warn you.) They recruited the notoriously gorgeous Faith for their latest shoot, and the results are simply fab! Keep scrolling to see how Faith wears K/Lab.
After seeing Free People’s latest collection, it was hard to decide which we loved more– the gorgeous intimates or Alyssa Miller’s stunning photography. Electric Love is a series of romantic and whimsical shifts, bodysuits, and vintage bra and panty sets sure to satisfy the most discerning bohemian girl, just in time for Valentine’s day. We’re over the moon over the Breaking Hearts bodysuit seen on Alyssa below, with metallic detailing and lace panelling that can be dressed up or down. Our new fave lounging outfit is sure to be the Gigi Robe thrown over their Frame Up soft bra and some Flirty Shorts for the perfect cute & comfy ensemble. Alyssa used self-portraiture to capture all of the collection’s photos, relying only on her own perspective. You can get an in-depth look at her self-portrait process, her artistic story, and how she approaches self-love in an interview with Joanna Rentz for Free People’s blog (BLDG 25), here. There’s a story behind every outfit, and a few days ago we were lucky enough to have our very own Lauren Johnson share some of her style secrets with us. Thrift store shopping is essential- she hunts down gorgeous vintage pieces then mixes and matches them with her favorite brands. Growing up, she learned a lot from her Grandmother, who taught her to take pride in doing things herself. To this day she still creates the pottery she used to make with her (her backpack is her pottery bag!) and creates her own clothing, like the undershirt worn in this outfit. Lauren says her Granny is the perfect example of a strong woman, and we couldn’t agree more based on this GirlBoss outfit! Keep scrolling to check out Lauren’s personal style.

How’d you start modeling?
I was an actress, new to LA, and was looking for fun work. So, I went to an open call… here I am.
Who/ what are your biggest inspirations?
Frida Khalo, Tempest Storm and the lovely Mother Earth.
Favorite modeling experience, so far & why?
Working for Clinique with JUCO was a favorite. Beauty modeling is more my zone.
Tell us some of your modeling goals. Any particular brands you’d love to model for?
I am looking to interweave my love for modeling, whacking and vogueing for a major brand. I love Milk Makeup, Adidas, & Gucci Resort.
Describe your personal style. How do you typically dress on your days off?
I always gravitate to clothes I can move in easily. Personally, I love costume pieces, pastels and feminine fits with a boyish appeal.
What’s your favorite fashion trend of the moment?
Not big on trends, but I think anyone in the world can rock a choker.
What are some of your favorite beauty products?
Glossier is great all around. I also love Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray and Moroccanoil for all hair care needs.
We know you’ve gotta take care of your figure, but what’s your favorite “cheat meal”?
My cheat meal is vegan chicken strips served on the UCLA campus after 9pm. It’s always a little challenge, but oh so worth it.
What are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been listening to Wanda Jackson, The Buttertones and always the Bee Gees.
Favorite TV show/ movie?
Don’t have favorites, but I love The Eric Andre Show. Also a Czech movie I recently discovered, called To The Stars By Hard Ways; very intimate and ethereal.
What’s your biggest pet peeve & why?
Inconsideration… people need to care about others’ well being more.
Something you love to do in your spare time?
I love dancing and conceptualizing grand performances in my garden.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I was my school’s mascot, the K.O. cougar.
What valuable lessons have you learned from the industry, thus far? Any advice for other aspiring models?
It is far more attractive to have an inner beauty about yourself that compliments your outer appearance. Most of the time, you don’t know what a client is looking for (sometimes, they don’t even know, themselves) so just be the maximum you and your chances are better than if you embrace someone else.
