For Love & Lemons

 How old are you?

I am 21 years young.

Where are you from?

I am a proud Iowan girl from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Do you have a book that changed your life?IMG_2888

This is going to sound sooooo nerdy but I absolutely love to read. It’s probably my favorite thing to do, and has been since I was just a little girl. In my senior year of college, we were assigned a book called “The Difference Maker” By John Maxwell. No one actually read any of the books we got assigned, but I am a huge nerd so I read every single one! This book, in particular, changed my life because it gave me a whole new perspective on how the simplest thing like having a good attitude can have an immensely positive impact on how successful you are in life. Since then, I follow so many tips the book gave me and I swear by it, I am such a happier person.

What inspires you the most?

Family. I have five siblings and they are all much younger than I am. They motivate me to be the best that I can be because I want to set an amazing example for them. I also look up to my mom and my grandmother. They are the strongest women I have ever met and they inspire me to be the same.

What’s been your greatest achievement (so far)?

Education is so important to me and will continue to be, so I would have to say my biggest achievement (so far) is getting my associates degree two weeks before my high school diploma. I was only 16 at the time when I made the decision to make that a goal of mine. It was one of the first big goals I worked really hard over a long period of time to accomplish, and it was extremely difficult to achieve because of my life situation at the time. SO many times I asked myself why I was doing it and wanted to just give up, but I stuck with it and it served me very well because now I am 21 and I already have two degrees!

What’s your favorite punctuation mark?

Definitely the !!!! I use it all the time when I’m messaging or emailing people. I feel like if you know me it just makes sense because I’m pretty out there. If not, I’ve often wondered if people think I’m yelling at them all the time…Lol!

Can you hula hoop?

Yes I can! But to be completely honest, I am kind of dysfunctional when it comes to any sport involving objects, so let’s just say I can and keep it at that.

If you had to choose one thing you were most passionate about, what would it be and why?

That’s hard to choose because I believe in being passionate about everything you do. If you’re not passionate about it… Then why are you doing it? But if I had to pick, I’d say I’m really passionate about traveling. I feel like it’s important to travel the world and see all that’s out there! There’s so much of it and so little time!

Are your feet the same size?

No they are not and it infuriates me! My right is almost a half size bigger than my left, so I buy shoes that fit perfectly on the left foot, and my toes are left to suffer on the right because I secretly want to punish that foot for being bigger.

IMG_2926What’s under your bed?

Clothes… Lots and lots of clothes.

How many bones have you broken?

TOO MANY!! I was a competitive cheerleader for over 14 years and between the flipping and the stunting (I was the flyer) I’ve had my fair share of broken arms, fingers, and even fractured my neck once!

What food will you absolutely not, under any circumstances, eat?

I am not a picky eater at all! But for some reason, my taste buds do not like seafood. Even the smell makes my stomach turn!

Which emoji would best capture your essence?

👹

What’s the most embarrassing trend you gave in to?

I try not to do trends because I think it is so much cooler when you just do you, and it ends up being a trend– because after all, that is how they start! But I’ll admit when I was in middle school (7th grade) I cared a lot about what others thought, and I got bullied pretty badly. I have really bushy eyebrows (bordering on uni-brow when I don’t maintain them), and back in the day pencil-thin eyebrows were the “cool” and “beautiful” thing. So one day I went home and shaved off my eyebrows. Let’s just say the results were much worse than just putting up with the bullies ! AND OMG THEY DID NOT GROW BACK IN PRETTY.

Ready, set, swim! Once a year, babes from all over the country head to Miami to both showcase and preview the hottest suits of the season. Excited to get in on the action, the Nous team packed up and jet-setted from the West Coast to the Gulf Coast to get in on the action. It may have been our debut season showing there, but we’re believers in “Go Big, or Go Home”, and we were certainly not about to go home.

The crowd could not get enough of Ashley Moore, who was thrilled to close the show for Frankie’s Bikinis and to both open and close For Love and Lemons, whose whimsical and romantic pieces breathed new life into classic bohemian-chic. She also got to rock one of the four hand-made pop art looks Frankie’s collaborated on with Kim Gordon, the pretty pastel-minded genius behind the creation of Wildfox. Taylor Hannum opened for Indah Clothing in their modern vintage take on swimwear and joined Ashley at the For Love & Lemons show for a few dazzling numbers. Allie Holton and KJ SKorge also made appearances for Beach Bunny and Amuse Society, respectively. Between the runway glamour and backstage interviews, Nous girls sunbathed at the pool, recharged at spa lounges, and hit the beach in the Miami heat.
