A favorite photographer among our models- and all of us here at Nous HQ- is the one and only Lucas Passmore. His photos are unmistakable: think simple, vulnerable and tastefully sexy all at the same time, which is no small achievement! A master at bringing out the strongest attributes and fierce confidence of every girl he works with, when he’s not testing you can find Lucas shooting for some of our favorite brands like Rails and Chloe Oliver or on the pages of magazines like Bisous, Angeleno, Cosmo or even Maxim!

Lucas’s funny, vibrant and energetic personality is incredibly infectious to everyone around him – ironically, it’s kind of a contrast to his sultry photography style. His ability to capture beauty in it’s most pure form continues to amaze us, so we can easily say that our obsession with Lucas isn’t ending anytime soon (but, we’re more than okay with that).

Thank you Lucas! You have taught our girls so much and provided them with valuable experience that has helped them be the successful women that they are today. We’ve seriously enjoyed the past few years of working with you, and are looking forward to many more to come.

We first met Taschka Turnquist when she approached us about testing our models. We instantly fell in love with her ability to photograph the girls so beautifully and uniquely.

Upon viewing Taschka’s portfolio, one can truly feel the passion and drive behind her work. Her photography is far more than a camera capturing an image but it is an experience. It’s clear as to why her recent solo art show was titled Look but Don’t Touch“, her art is incredibly moving.

Read more as this talented young artist shares her story with us.

With artists as parents, creativity runs through your blood; can you share more about your background in the arts?

My mother was a writer and artist so it was only natural for me to follow suit. I spent most of my childhood drawing, painting, making clothes for my dolls from scratch. I’d even build doll houses out of scrap wood.  I just loved to create.  I became interested in Photograpy during high school but it wasn’t until after college, where I majored in fashion design, that I started shooting again.  Soon photography became the focus and my career path defined itself.

What were your thoughts when you picked up your first camera?

“I can freeze time.” This is very appealing to a control freak. It’s a way to savor the moment as you like it and/or a way to memorialize something that will never be again. I was intrigued by that power and I still am all these years later.

At what point did you know you were destined to be a photographer?

“I knew I was set when I saw how people reacted to me when I would shoot them. I’m a people person despite being very much a loner.  Another side of me comes out when my camera is around. It’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The camera does the dirty work, I’m just along for the ride.”

Describe your style in three words:

“Sex.
Depth.
Intuition.”

If you could work with anybody living or dead who would it be and why?

“Herb Ritts. I would love to have learned from him…and be photographed by him. It was on my bucket list. Ahh, another lifetime I suppose.”

I also heard that you had a recent art show, can you share more about that as well?
What was the name for this series and why? What was the inspiration behind this series?

“Yes, in NY I just had a solo show titled “Look but don’t touch.” I was inspired to share my intimate point
of view and muses behind it.  Those little moments in between that tickle the eye.  I love when I’m
shooting and I catch a breath or exhale I didn’t see coming.  That’s what the show was about.  The
viewer wanting to reach in and touch the subject…but it’s only a picture.  So keep your hands to
yourself.”
