Kym Ellis has been the star of their look books for a few seasons now, and we’re not surprised they keep bringing her back for more. From street wear to evening wear, this designer line exudes a certain kind of regal confidence, and we can’t imagine a more perfect model to embody that aesthetic than Kym.

Last week something super exciting happened: We had our first in-house casting in the Nous Fashion Den with our dear friends at Swell! As California girls, we can’t get enough of their huge selection of clothing and accessories for a surf-oriented lifestyle. I mean, we don’t actually surf or anything, but that doesn’t stop us from heading to Swell whenever we need to up our beach-attire game! Plus, they update their collection daily, which is an absolute must for true shop-aholics like us.
Part of the functionality of our new space is to be able to provide next-level services for our beloved clients, including in-house photoshoots and castings. Nous Fashion Den castings in particular are designed to be both a convenient and luxe experience for our clients.
As you can see here, the process begins with all of the girls gathered in our open call area.
One by one, they head into the next room for some one-on-one time with the client. In this case, the lovely Dana Wimberly from Swell‘s core team was there to greet the girls and get to know them a little better. Dana sat casually on our pretty little couch (complete with sparkly authentic Moroccan textiles that we just can’t get enough of) and interviewed each girl. From the same seat, she also had an unobstructed view of the studio area, so she could watch the girls model after speaking with them. Our Art Department Director and in-house photographer Ashley was right there to have the girls do a mock-ecomm shoot so that Dana could sit back, relax, and watch them do their thing. Fabulous!
When building the studio space, we brought in the expert opinion of one of our favorite photographers, Ed McGowan, to help us get the lighting just right. He did a fantastic job, look at how perfect these casting photos of the girls come out! Of course, for ultra-convenience, we made sure to give Dana a thumb drive with all of the images to take with her back to Swell HQ.
Thanks Swell, for testing out our new space with us! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Go check out our Women’s Board to see the girls’ full portfolios.
To cast with Nous Model Management in our new space, email the details of your shoot to email@example.com!
Our lovely Kym Ellis seamlessly adopted a retro indie-chic wardrobe and a somber expression for this hauntingly elegant spread shot by Aaron Feaver for The Gift Magazine. Stylist Laura Mazza and hair and makeup artist Juanita Lyon really pulled out all the stops to put these looks together, and the result is breathtaking. Check out the full editorial below.
All around cool girl, Kym Ellis stars in a series shot by Eddie Chacon for Oyster Magazine. Sissy Sainte-Marie put together easy-going denim on denim looks paired with leather caps and Bernhard Wilhelm x Camper shoes. Hair stylist, Bobby Eliot gave Kym two top-knot buns perfect for raging all night. The bright eyes are all thanks to Jeffrey Baum, who used NARS cosmetics to complete the look.

But I also try to shower him with his all time favorites. This fathers day, I managed to buy him a ticket to LA to visit me next month, and packaged a big box full of all his favorite workout attire, and all of his favorite goodies for him to enjoy!” – Lauren Johnson
“This year he is getting a sampler package of cigars and season one of the Newsroom on DVD.” – Lisa Marlier
“I’m planning on getting him this photo framed and sending him a gift card to a nice restaurant.” – Chebo
“I bought my dad an ivory razor.” – Giza Lagarce
“For Father’s Day I’ve decided I’m going to make my dad a pie from scratch (his fav) and I’m putting together a small scrapbook. He hates getting presents, so he actually planned a surprise for the rest of us.” – Kym Ellis
Coachella Music Festival is right around the corner and everyone wants to know what to wear. While many are unable to seek tips from a pro, NOUSzine went straight to the source and covered Coachella style from day to night. LF Robertson’s in-house style expert, Ashley, shared with us on how to take your look from day to night without losing your sense of personal style. Watch as she shares how she styled our girls, Phoenix and Kym in four great outfits. You can’t lose with these tips!
For day, Ashley chose a flirty flower girl look for Kym. Flowers galore but roughed up with a pair of amazing military style boots by Steve Madden.
“One of the main trends, going on is the crochet; inside the shredding we have the crotchet exposed. Another must have for Coachella is the cropped tops, right here we have the Mullal floral top. Perfectly fits her, super comfy with the elastic band on the back. Another big trend going forward is the floral headdress. We’ve got the Steve Madden Troopa boots and to add a little bit girly flair we put the ruffled socks with it just to make it a little bit girly but rough it up for the desert. Also we have the Rebbeca Minkoff new spring 2013 cross body bag has the studs going down the side so a little bit of edge but still very girly.”
Phoenix’s rocked a bohemian inspired look, including a lace bustier to the aztec print.
“We have the paper heart soft shorts with the little fringe details. You’re going to see a lot of soft shorts going forward going into the spring/summer season with the aztec print. We have the bohemian headdress, the Rebecca Minkoff bag, super cute that can hold just about anything you need for Coachella. down here we have the M.I.A. gladiator sandals, super cute, they also come in white which is really great. We just like this whole look together, it’s very cohesive with the bohemian style, perfect for Coachella no matter how hot it gets she’s going to stay nice and cute and cool.”
Kym can’t be missed partying on the field in a neon green beanie, bleached ACDC tee and distressed denim.
“So night one outfit that Kym’s got on is very edgy rocker-chic. We have the ‘Furst of a Kind’ bleached out vintage tee. We spend a lot of time remaking the vintage tees. You cannot find these anywhere except LF. Down below we have the Report Ackley boot. You’re going to see a ton of exposed boots, lots of buckles going forward. Another perfect choice for Coachella, that way your feet don’t get too ruffed up out in the desert. We have the neon beanie going on so you can’t get lost at night, your friends will be able to find you.”
Phoenix kept her bohemian inspired look going through the night in a dress with aztec print and Steven Madden Thunda boots.
“Phoenix night time outfit for Coachella consists of this really cute angel diva dress, you’ve got the aztec print going down the front so you can still carry that bohemian sense of style throughout the night. We have this really awesome Carmar denim jacket, a bunch of distressing to kind of rough it up, edge it up just a little bit but the dress still keeps it very girly.”
Last minute packing can be the worst but not when your agency is on Robertson Blvd, home of many great and luxe clothing stores. If we were to leave last minute for Coachella Music Festival, LF would be the perfect place to shop.
