Donny & Marie Osmond’s classic hit, “I’m a Little Bit Country, a Little Bit Rock N Roll,” is playing through our ears while reviewing Aliya, Lee, and Phoenix‘s new shoot with Elegant Magazine’s August 2018 issue – and we love it! In Elegant’s recent issue, these Nous girls take a break from their big city lives, and embrace some good ‘ole fashion ‘American country’ living. The result = pure art! To see what we are gushing about, take a look at the full editorial below:

Summer maybe coming to an end (😣), but these new photographs of Alyssa Miller are giving us life. 🌷 Alyssa recently shot with the Aussie brand, Spell & the Gypsy, whose backstory is as unique and influential as their designs.

The line was created by two sisters, Elizabeth and Isabella, alluding “to the dreams of their Latvian grandparents who fled war-torn Europe bound for America, but for a twist of fate ended up in a dusty refugee camp in Australia; to their hippie parents, a leather craftsman and potter, who in the 1970s hopped from town to town following their own wild dreams” (as described on spelldesigns.com).

We absolutely ADORE Spell & the Gypsy’s love for pursuing dreams, colors, florals, age-old-lace, and how good Alyssa Miller looks in these monumental designs! ✨ To see what we are talking about, take a look below:

During the past couple weeks, it’s no secret that ‘June Gloom’ has been making its rounds throughout the city of Los Angeles. Yet, as Flaunt Magazine began their poolside chats with Nous Models, the sun couldn’t help but shine brightly. For Flaunt, all of their previous #poolaroid chats have been exciting, but this particular event brought something new to the table: commemorating Flaunt Magazine’s upcoming 20th birthday.

Therefore, having just celebrated Nous Model Management’s 20th anniversary this past February, we shared their enthusiasm. Being in business for two decades is a great achievement, and our girls, Aliya , Kendall Harris, and Moe Stuck, were eager to celebrate alongside Flaunt. The timeless, “Would You Rather,” game was the honorable poolside activity, touching base on all things from birthdays, fantasy parties, and their best wishes for Flaunt’s big 2-0.

To find out what Aliya, Kendall, and Moe’s answers were, as well as glimpse at some snaps from their cheerful day under the sun, take a look below:

Aliya Protto

FM: Best ever bday present you got and worst. Best: a journal.

AP: Worst: A wig. A QVC old lady wig.

FM: What did you do for your 20th bday?

AP: I was in Estonia competing at a rhythmic gymnast meet. I was training my butt off and my friends got me one piece of chocolate because that’s all I was allowed to have (coach said no chocolate).

FM: What do you wish to Flaunt for 20th?

AP: Longevity, success, and a huge bouquet of flowers.

Would you rather?

FM: Have a surprise party or plan it yourself?

AP: Surprise party. Plan it myself & I will get overwhelmed & cancel.

FM: Magician or clown?

AP: Magician. I hate clowns, they scare me.

FM: Disney Princess or Wild West party theme?

AP: Wild West party.

FM: Red velvet or ice cream cake?

AP: Red velvet. I love ice cream but not ice cream cake.

FM: Stripper in a cake or karaoke bar?

AP: Stripper in a cake; I can’t sing.

FM: Who would you rather have perform at your party: The Spice Girls or a hologram of Prince?

FM: What did you do for your 20th bday?

MS: College dinner, no money, not 21, stuck in small town, dinner with family, grandma, and mom. Iowa college.

Looking for a new look to rock this summer? Well, we have just the solution! This past week our girl, Alyssa Miller, launched her modern take on western-wear, collaborating with Understated Leather. We couldn’t be more in love with the results and knew we just had to share it with all of you! For those that want to learn more about her collaboration, we have good news. Upon the launch, Alyssa sat down with  W Magazine, offering all the exclusive deets on her new line. View the full interview below!:

W Magazine: How did this partnership with Understated Leather come to life?

AM: Jen, who owns and operates Understated Leather, and I became close friends and just started chatting about it casually and eventually decided to collaborate. It’s been a dream to work with my bestie on my first collection.

W Magazine: What was your inspiration for the collection?

AM: I was very inspired by Nudie and Roncelli suits, and western wear in general. I loved the idea of having a few pieces of the same collection and being able to wear them together as suit wear, throwing a jacket on with jeans, or the shorts with a classic white button up tied at the waist.

W Magazine: From music to modeling, you’re a multi-hyphenate. Did you always plan on venturing into design as well?

AM: I wear many hats, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Having been a model for so long I learned a lot about clothes, design, and style. So I think it was a matter of time before I started working on my own designs. I didn’t realize exactly how rewarding it could be to see your concepts go from mind to paper to being born into actuality. I loved the process. I imagine it will be even more so seeing all the beautiful women of the world actually wearing them.

W Magazine: Take me through the design process with the Understated Leather team. How did this collaboration work?

AM: Jen was amazing, she was very hands off and let me conceptualize the entire collection and every piece I wanted. We then worked with a designer on fit. We worked very hard to make sure that every piece was as flattering and flawless as possible. I relentlessly pushed every detail, the pants I am particularly proud of. A good suede pant is very hard to come by—I know because I’ve searched endlessly. So I’m proud to say I think we made the perfect pair.

W Magazine: The collection seems to be based around the brand’s Texan roots. Was this intentional?

AM: With both Jen and I being based out of Austin I think it was impossible to avoid. We both love and embrace western culture and are inspired by it every day out here. I wanted to find a way of meshing city wear with Texas country cowboy wear. I want to take a bit of Texas with me everywhere I go.

W Magazine: What would you say is your signature touch in the collection?

AM: The embroidery is to me, what makes this collection so special and spectacular. It reminds me of something you might find on a vintage piece. Something that if you were to find in a vintage shop you might die from excitement.

W Magazine: You also styled the campaign—what is your styling philosophy?

AM: In this case it was less is more. I used only vintage white blouses and t- shirts from my vintage collection for Pilgrim, a bit of a signature of mine. The great thing about this collection is that it really speaks for itself, it didn’t need much.

W Magazine: You took a three day road-trip to West Texas for the campaign. What was that like?

AM: I wanted it to feel like a journey, like an adventure, and it was one. We almost ran out of gas on a country road with nothing around for miles. We talked for hours, we shared our stories and offered our advice. We almost peed our pants while waiting for the next rest stop, then ate all the crappy convenience store snacks and drank wine straight from the bottle at night. We shot when we came upon something interesting that helped tell our story. We shot when it felt right, and when it didn’t, we didn’t. It was perfect.

W Magazine: Do you feel your friendship helped shape this collection?

AM: My friendships shape everything I do, but this one in particular especially. Jen offered me a safe place to design my first collection and Harper offered me a safe and open collaboration in image making as well. Having been in the industry for so long I know how hard that is to come by. To be able to speak freely about what it is I want and need to convey and to have Harper be so receptive was truly a gift. Capturing an exact mood, a feeling, is incredibly hard to do and I would never have been able to do it with out them.

W Magazine: Who are your style icons?

AM: Bianca and Mick Jagger, Françoise Hardy, Pattie Boyd… too many to count.
