TELL US YOUR STORY?  WHO IS SAKURA?

Well my name is Sakura, my full name is Sakura Paige Hart Heffron. I was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii and it’s tradition there for people to have multiple names. That’s why I have two first names, Sakura and Paige.

YOU HAVE A VERY BEAUTIFUL NAME. WHAT DO YOU THINK INSPIRED YOUR PARENTS TO GIVE YOU A “CHERRY BLOSSOM” NAME?

Sakura is Japanese for Cherry blossom. Cherry blossoms grow in April and I was born in April, this was intentional by my parents.

s2

WHAT’S YOUR ETHNIC BACKGROUND?

My mom is Japanese and my dad comes from Norwegian/American Decent.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

The United States of America, specifically Southern California.  linebreaks3

TELL US ABOUT YOUR HOMETOWN.

My home town is called Aliso Viejo, in Orange County. We moved from Hawaii once I started grade school. My hometown is not too far away from the beach, so I grew up spending most summer days when not in school, chilling with friends at the beach.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED NOW? YOU THINK YOU WOULD STAY THERE FOR A WHILE?

I am based in Los Angeles. I will be staying in LA for a while, finishing school and modeling.linebreaks4

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BE A MODEL?

I was initially drawn to the fashion world at the young age of twelve. After my first shoot, I was inspired to keep modeling because I felt like I could inspire other girls to chase their dreams no matter where in life they may be. Something that seemed so farfetched to me became a reality once I set my mind to it. Anything and everything is possible if you believe in yourself. I am still inspired today by the amount of passion and hard work that goes into a photo shoot.

s5
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELING?

I was signed with my mother Agency Nous Model Management at twelve years old, just short of thirteen and now I am twenty-two years old.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART IN BEING A MODEL?

It is difficult to pinpoint one thing, but I love being able to delve into a new world and new setting every day. I am always adapting to new people and creative direction- I am never bored at work I am constantly in awe of everyone’s talent.  linebreaks6

YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE IN MODELING SO FAR.

My first job is my most memorable because I was so young and worked with a famous photographer, Peggy Sirota.                        s7

HOW DO YOU MANAGE YOUR TIME AS A MODEL?

I have to balance school and modeling. I set my mind to it and do what I need to do before I know I am going to travel for work, or just make arrangements with my teachers so that I can turn it in when I get back.

s8
IF YOU CAN COMPARE YOUR MODELING EXPERIENCES WITH YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

The Black Stallion is a movie of raw beauty and elegance. I have learned that in the modeling industry, it’s best to be yourself.linebreaks9

WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER MODELING?

I want to be a designer, whether it’s interiors or exteriors of buildings. linebreaks10

ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO ANY ASPIRING MODELS OUT THERE?

The real you is the best you so don’t try and be anything but yourself.

DREAM PROJECT?

Dream project could be anything! Any opportunity to make people happy!

DREAM CLIENT?

Marc Jacobs

TELL US A SECRET.

I am addicted to playing Sims. linebreaks11

IF YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE CHANCE AND OPPORTUNITY TO HELP A SPECIFIC CHARITY, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Ready, set, swim! Once a year, babes from all over the country head to Miami to both showcase and preview the hottest suits of the season. Excited to get in on the action, the Nous team packed up and jet-setted from the West Coast to the Gulf Coast to get in on the action. It may have been our debut season showing there, but we’re believers in “Go Big, or Go Home”, and we were certainly not about to go home.

The crowd could not get enough of Ashley Moore, who was thrilled to close the show for Frankie’s Bikinis and to both open and close For Love and Lemons, whose whimsical and romantic pieces breathed new life into classic bohemian-chic. She also got to rock one of the four hand-made pop art looks Frankie’s collaborated on with Kim Gordon, the pretty pastel-minded genius behind the creation of Wildfox. Taylor Hannum opened for Indah Clothing in their modern vintage take on swimwear and joined Ashley at the For Love & Lemons show for a few dazzling numbers. Allie Holton and KJ SKorge also made appearances for Beach Bunny and Amuse Society, respectively. Between the runway glamour and backstage interviews, Nous girls sunbathed at the pool, recharged at spa lounges, and hit the beach in the Miami heat.

We didn’t think this summer heatwave could get any hotter– until we saw Chiquelle’s latest lookbook with Jessica Serfaty. The ‘Poolside’ collection combines simplicity with daring cuts and playful detailing to irresistible effect. We can’t wait to get our hands on their Mesh Bikini Set, and the Fiji Swimsuit, which promise to be show-stoppers at any beach excursion. With a sun-drenched summer ahead, we’re not wasting any time snagging a few new ‘kinis before they’re sold out. If you’re a fellow sun-worshipper and can’t wait to get to the beach this weekend, check out Chiquelle Swim before you pack your beach tote(and sunscreen)!

As our favorite season begins to heat up, we look forward to casting off our sweaters and denim and heading to the beach in a new bikini. The Nordstrom Swim Pop-In Shop couldn’t have come at a better time, full of hand-picked swimwear pieces and luxurious cover-ups guaranteed to make your moment in the sun even more enjoyable. For the woman who enjoys a fabulous setting as much as she enjoys a gorgeous wardrobe, the collection has something for everyone, from retro high-waisted bikinis to daring one-pieces and cheeky bottoms.

We also love the breezy bohemian scarf cover-ups, ultra flattering racerback bikini tops, and wide array of coverage in bikini bottoms, for women of all styles and body types. Our perfect Saturday this weekend looks like starting the day in the ONIA ‘Jesse’ Cover-Up Shirtdress, sipping a latte seaside before hitting the beach in the fun and sporty Stone Fox ‘Venice’ Bikini before cozying up by the bonfire in the chic and ultra-comfy Soler ‘Thalia’ Off the Shoulder Silk Maxi Dress. While we’re praying to the fashion gods to make this pretty little daydream a reality, you can check out Faith modeling the entire collection on Nordstrom.com

linebreak Nothing says weekend like a hot new outfit you can’t wait to wear. And this Friday all our wardrobe envy was directed at Chloe Bechtol for Taniuchi, whose fashion-forward pieces and gorgeous staples had us at first glance. We’re keeping an eye on their custom-made metallic leather bomber jacket from their Los Angeles line, which will be sure to make a splash at any 4th of July celebration. After styling the likes of Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and Khloe Kardashian, we’d expect no less from designer Kanna Taniuchi, who has combined inspiration and experience effortlessly in her fledgling line.  We only have one question left: how can I get my hands on one of these coats?
