Much like applying mascara while operating a moving vehicle, accessorizing an outfit is a combination of skill, the right products, and many a failed attempt. But the end result is well worth it: a basic tee can be brought to life with a bold necklace, while a simple dress is instantly awakened with the touch of a killer belt. And every day wear is given a dose of style when you have the right bag on your shoulders. But with all the choices out there, it’s easier than ever to feel overwhelmed – the classic gateway feeling that enviably leaves you resorting to your tried and true pieces. But girl, those were so last season.

Enter Linea Pelle to the rescue, a fashion brand that is anything but your normal accessories retailer. It’s infusion of Southern California roots mixed with high luxury design equals a uniqueness that will leave you feeling (and looking) extraordinary. Britt Koth showed us how it’s done in Linea Pelle’s Spring 2015 Lookbook, fittingly shot in an elegantly understated desert locale by photographer Troy Jensen. Britt looks gorgeous as ever in some of the chicest accessories we’ve ever seen, from a cream colored crochet dress that is transformed from day to night with the touch of a great belt, to the classic jeans and tank top combo that is given new meaning with a statement bag.

Read on to find out how to accessorize similar to our favorite styles from the shoot. Note to self: climbing trees in dresses and heels may be harder than applying mascara while driving.

Romance isn’t something we typically celebrate in our everyday wardrobe. Between school, work, and brunch with friends, our favorite pair of jeans and a staple jacket usually does the trick. But for those times when life calls for something a bit more daring than our ordinary look – hello, Valentine’s Day – we suddenly find ourselves thrashing through the back of our closets for something different. Maybe it’s the pressure of what we think we’re supposed to look like (e.g. a Victoria’s Secret Angel), rather than what we actually want to feel like. Or, maybe it’s the fact that the pressure to impress seems to accompany most obviously drop-dead sexy style choices. The definition of romance, however, is open to interpretation. Yours, that is!

Throw those painful stilettos and cliché bandage dresses aside: a realistically flirty look should be achieved with soft, flowing and elegantly understated details. Oftentimes we’re dressing for girls, but when it comes to romance that’s in fact not what appeals most to guys. Case in point – guys aren’t looking to hang out with over-the-top Beverly Hills Barbie; they’d rather keep it cool with down-to-earth and effortlessly sexy, Miss Penny Lane. That’s why we’re loving Planet Blue’s recent lookbook chock-filled with soft, romantic options that are subtly suggestive all with the laid back and “au natural” appeal of your favorite white tee, black bra situation that your man loves so much. Let’s face it, we’re all lovestruck for simplicity and comfort.

Known for being the epitome of cool, authentic style, Planet Blue’s Heartbreak Hotel collection carries with it just the right amount of romance that flows perfectly in its own free-spirited way. Tereza looked purely ethereal in the shoot, her stunning looks accentuated with touches of lace and balanced details. A flirty, flowing romper shows off her enviable gams, while the longsleeves conceal and leave something to the imagination. Similarly, an eye-catching Love & Lemons dress brings a romantic dose of red lace, and its sheer sleeves actually achieve a more stand-out style choice than the typical spaghetti strap. And a stunning magenta gown is sealed with a kiss of lace and an intimate surprise: it’s backless.

Browse the rest of our favorite looks below, and we can just about guarantee it will leave you in the mood for love.

How NOT To Be Awkward At Parties: 6 Outfits That Save The Day

“Claiming that we’re “awkward” is probably our go-to way to self-deprecate. It’s simply because we’ve all been that girl — the one who’s holding so many hors d’oeuvres she doesn’t have a spare limb to shake a stranger’s hand. Or, the one who can’t walk across a room without spilling her beverage, and for whom the term “small talk” makes her wince. And, this time of year — the Olympics of social gatherings — our graces are really put to the test.

Well, we’re putting our hard-learned lessons to better use: helping you navigate the holiday party circuit with a few clever style solutions. Yes, your outfit can help. There are accessories so cool they’re automatic icebreakers, clothes that will hide a margarita dribble, and other precautionary measures that are so much more than fancy and festive. Read on and ease those nerves, party girl.

The Smooth Mover

Let’s kick it off with the simplest of soiree-snafu solutions: The pretty party flats.

If you’re not the heel-wearing kind of girl during the day, there’s no pressure to step outside your comfort zone come playtime.

Plus, take into consideration what the night could have in store:

Will you be strolling from one shindig to the next? Will there even be anywhere to sit?

If you foresee yourself being the girl who’s hobbling around unhappily, a grounded pair of party shoes —

think metallic cap toes, glittery fabrics, bold colors — will be your sole mate.

The Spiller

You can hardly finish a cocktail or pop a few apps into your mouth without the evidence showing up on your clothes.

While your dry cleaner may love you for it, being a messy eater isn’t so great for soft, solid colors or, ya know, Instagram.

If you’re a chronic spiller, opt for busy prints that will hide any drops or smears.

And, for those who expect to be around a more rambunctious crowd,

look to incorporate easy-to-clean-up materials like patent leather or even a bit of PVC.

The Dancing Queen

When the DJ finally plays your jam, all bets are off.

Arms and legs are a-flailing, your shimmy is next-level, and the old “dance like no one’s watching” trope becomes a bit too true.

And, while short or loose hems may lead to accidental flashing, more importantly,

you’d rather not be the girl who’s wiggling uncomfortably in a look not made for dancing.

Break out the jewel-encrusted party pants that won’t keep you awkwardly bouncing at the mercy of your dress.

You’re the friend-of-the-friend’s +1, and you can’t remember the name of the only other familiar person in the room.

While it may seem safe to comment on the weather, it’s also kind of a snooze.

If you’re not a lover of small talk, come equipped with an instant icebreaker

in the form of statement jewelry, especially placed near your face.

Trust: If there’s a pretty, sparkly object looking back at them,

your new friends will likely remark and you can lead the convo from there.

It’s so much better than bonding over the Polar Vortex.

The Free-Hander

It’s easy to spot a fellow awkward girl by looking at her hands.

They’re a bit fidgety; they move from a countertop to her hip, now back to the countertop, and then…err, no, play with your hair!

Some of you may choose to cling to a beverage, milking it for the duration of the evening.

But, we prefer a practical fashion solution: the pocketed party dress.

Not only do the side details add dimension to the design, they also serve as the perfect little safety nook for jittery digits.

The Nosher

Let’s just say we’re not the kind of guests who pass up the cheese platter.

Can you dip it? Is it wrapped in prosciutto? We’re in.

Naturally, the foodies of the fête will have a hard time balancing a clutch and soon find themselves

totally out of spare hands when it’s time to shake someone else’s or return a text.

In this case, crossbody carryalls with easy-to-open compartments are key.

You have friends to meet and canapés to indulge in — think of your priorities.”

holidayhats

From being your best friend on that not-so-great hair day to helping you achieve an “it” factor that transforms an outfit, hats are essential to any model’s wardrobe. Winter months leave us feeling frizzy and freezing, so what better way to get through the day than to cozy up under a trendy wide-brim or beanie. Here’s some of our favorite headgear to get you through the winter months with ease and (and maybe a Peppermint Mocha, or two).

Nothing screams quintessential LA style more than the black wide-brimmed hat, like the ones above from LF’s “Sincerely, Skirts” lookbook. It’s the perfect staple that will liven up your wardrobe in these dreary winter months. We love the versatility of this hat; pair it with a light-wash denim jeans and flats for a quick on-the-go day look, or dress it up in a silk frock and vintage booties for a night out. Naty models the many styles of this hat in her Brandy Melville shoot, proving that it’s the perfect fit (literally, the hat is even named Naty).

If you’re a more seasoned hat veteran and are looking to get creative, try this timeless look in olive- the edgier cousin to classic black hat. Not only is this color perfect for colder months, but it’s also extremely flattering and helps liven up our slowly-fading summer complexions. Taylor pulls off the cool girl style of this look in her Brixton hat from PacSun. Can you say, obsessed?

For a cozier alternative to the wide-brim look, we love the beanie. Wear it on the subway en route to a casting call, then stash it in your bag before heading downtown with girlfriends. Bring out your playful side with these fun cat-ear beanies from PacSun. Or throw on an embroidery beanie from Brandy Melville for an instant conversation starter (or ender, depending on your mood). Regardless, you’ll be killin’ it all through the holiday season.

“Hi guys! Giza here with the latest in NYFW style and trends. I’ve been scoping out the scene in Manhattan for the past week. Obviously, all of the S/S’ 15 styles are stunning, but I’ve spotted a few trends on the street that are sure to be pretty major this upcoming season. I’ve got all of the details for you in this week’s NYFW Recap:

Crazy prints

Designers weren’t holding back this season in the print department. Crazy prints, vibrant colors… Um hello, seventies. We’ve missed you. I’m not talking a hint of a print here and there. No. Full on head-to-toe psychedelic floral. I’m obsessed.

Fringe

Are you going through Coachella withdrawal? Don’t worry. April will be here before you know it. In the meantime, designers are giving you your fringe fix by way of awesome denim and leather jackets and suede bags. Fringe represents freedom and carelessness and passion. It’s no wonder we can’t seem to get enough these days.

Fishnet skirts

Gone are the days where fishnet only thrived through the cheeky little tights you wore with your favorite little minis. Fishnets are back in a new way this season. Say hello to the fishnet skirt. Designers are considerate of the sexy reputation that fishnets have attained over the year. Try pairing yours with a classy little button up top, sandals, and a topknot for an effortlessly chic look.

Midriff

The midriff trend is still going strong. I don’t think we’ll be mourning the death of crop tops any time soon. NYFW was littered with both models and the fashion-inclined alike baring their summer bods by way of tiny tops and bold bralettes. For SS ’15, swap your high-wasted shorts and skirts for classic mid-rise denim.

Beiges

Amidst all of the drama and eccentricities of fashion week, we can all find comfort in the fact that beige is still totally in. Not up for flashy prints and daring colors. It’s fine. Beige is still a safe space for you to comfortably channel your inner fashion savant. Timeless trench coats and sleek skirts are only a few of the ways that you can bring beige back in your spring and summer wardrobes. Just kidding about the whole “back” bit. Beige never truly went anywhere to begin with.

This NYFW was complete madness, I was running all over the place. Different parties, events, shows, and presentations. I am excited to share with you some of the experience!”

giza

Hi fashionistas! Giza here with the latest in NYFW style and trends. I’ve been scoping out the scene in Manhattan for the past week. Obviously, all of the S/S ’15 styles are stunning, but I’ve spotted a few trends that are sure to be pretty huge this upcoming season. I’ve got all of the details for you in this week’s NYFW Recap.

My favorite would have to be this netting trend. Rodarte killed it with their net dresses and skirts; but they definitely weren’t the only ones thinking netting this season!

Another trend that I have always been a fan of are the trenches and menswear-esqe coats. I’m a sucker for when a womenswear line adds a menswear twist.

Beiges and neutrals were totally in for this season. I don’t often venture into the bold world of color so this was right up my alley.

A style that I am familiar with popped up quite a bit on the runway, the culotte. Culottes are pretty much under the knee, usually flowy, shorts that might look like a skirt from afar. There were some designers that executed it in a very modern way.

Patterned prints were a must for designers.  This season without fail, bold patterns were a big statement.

When you think of spring pastels tend to come to mind, and without a doubt- pastels were all over the runway. I believe that Elizabeth and James did it best!

Again, I’m a sucker for a menswear twist.  I loved it when trousers made repeat appearances!

I’m all for a good pair of heels but when I saw that flats and “flatforms” (which I have a love-hate relationship with) were everywhere, a part of me exploded with happiness. Check out how Coach and MM6 Maison Martin Margiela did flatforms, not bad!

When done right ruffles, frills, and pleats can drive a girl wild. Juan Carlos Obando did it so well!

I love pushing boundaries; so when I saw how Jason Wu used sheers, I got pretty inspired!  Check it out for yourself but be careful how you do it.  It takes some finesse for sure.

Last but not least, flawy fabrics were pretty major. I have to admit that when I wear anything even the slightest bit flowy I immediately feel majestic and mythical. I would wear Juan Carlos Obando’s flowy look every chance I get!

Stay tuned for Part 2 later this week!  I’ll be covering all of the most coveted NYFW street style trends- including my own!

Coachella Music Festival is right around the corner and everyone wants to know what to wear. While many are unable to seek tips from a pro, NOUSzine went straight to the source and covered Coachella style from day to night. LF Robertson’s in-house style expert, Ashley, shared with us on how to take your look from day to night without losing your sense of personal style. Watch as she shares how she styled our girls, Phoenix and Kym in four great outfits. You can’t lose with these tips!

Coachella Style with LF from Nous Model Management on Vimeo.

For day, Ashley chose a flirty flower girl look for Kym. Flowers galore but roughed up with a pair of amazing military style boots by Steve Madden.

“One of the main trends, going on is the crochet; inside the shredding we have the crotchet exposed. Another must have for Coachella is the cropped tops, right here we have the Mullal floral top. Perfectly fits her, super comfy with the elastic band on the back. Another big trend going forward is the floral headdress. We’ve got the Steve Madden Troopa boots and to add a little bit girly flair we put the ruffled socks with it just to make it a little bit girly but rough it up for the desert. Also we have the Rebbeca Minkoff new spring 2013 cross body bag has the studs going down the side so a little bit of edge but still very girly.”

Phoenix’s rocked a bohemian inspired look, including a lace bustier to the aztec print.

“We have the paper heart soft shorts with the little fringe details. You’re going to see a lot of soft shorts going forward going into the spring/summer season with the aztec print. We have the bohemian headdress, the Rebecca Minkoff bag, super cute that can hold just about anything you need for Coachella. down here we have the M.I.A. gladiator sandals, super cute, they also come in white which is really great. We just like this whole look together, it’s very cohesive with the bohemian style, perfect for Coachella no matter how hot it gets she’s going to stay nice and cute and cool.”

Kym can’t be missed partying on the field in a neon green beanie, bleached ACDC tee and distressed denim.

“So night one outfit that Kym’s got on is very edgy rocker-chic. We have the ‘Furst of a Kind’ bleached out vintage tee. We spend a lot of time remaking the vintage tees. You cannot find these anywhere except LF. Down below we have the Report Ackley boot. You’re going to see a ton of exposed boots, lots of buckles going forward. Another perfect choice for Coachella, that way your feet don’t get too ruffed up out in the desert. We have the neon beanie going on so you can’t get lost at night, your friends will be able to find you.”

Phoenix kept her bohemian inspired look going through the night in a dress with aztec print and Steven Madden Thunda boots.

“Phoenix night time outfit for Coachella consists of this really cute angel diva dress, you’ve got the aztec print going down the front so you can still carry that bohemian sense of style throughout the night. We have this really awesome Carmar denim jacket, a bunch of distressing to kind of rough it up, edge it up just a little bit but the dress still keeps it very girly.”
